Just after midnight Mark got home! Sophie had been in bed since 8:00, but willed herself to stay awake to greet Daddy. (She couldn't wait to show him her new haircut!) Haleigh had been fast asleep but woke up 5 minutes before Daddy got home. She spent those 5 minutes in a sleepy fog watching out the window for Daddy's truck lights. Mackenzie's sleep, up until this point, had been restless at best. She did yell out as the big girls were getting back to bed, but we kept Mark's return a secret from her until morning. We were certain if she knew her daddy was home she would not go back to sleep!
The stories and pictures are moving. The faces of the children are beautiful. The conditions surrounding them unbelievable. The joy on the faces of those reaching out to help in the name of Jesus, remarkable.
